At the 2013 Trinidad and Tobago International Marathon Launch, it was announced that Special Olympics TT (SOTT) was the chosen charity for the event. SOTT as they are well known, do yeoman’s service in ensuring that all persons with mental retardation have the chance to become useful and productive citizens who are accepted and respected in their communities. This is achieved year round by involvement in sports training and athletic competitions. Athletes are assigned to divisions by age and ability levels thus providing each with a reasonable chance to win. The Trinidad and Tobago Marathon Committee applauds their continuous efforts and are pleased to contribute the sum of Six Thousand Dollars towards their work. (Many people support by volunteering their time at these games. Contact them to get trained and give a little of your time.)
